The Xbox Series S as a cheaper version of the Xbox Series X could actually come: This is indicated by a new leak from a user on Twitter who has published pictures of a white next-gen controller there. In this regard, it is particularly interesting that the Xbox Series X as well as the Xbox Series S are listed on the packaging as compatibility of the wireless controller.
There were already rumors about an Xbox Lockhart, which - presumably under the name Xbox Series S - could be brought onto the market as a cheap version of the Xbox Series X. Although an official announcement from Microsoft is still pending, the references to such a model are increasing.
Package information indicates Xbox Series S.
It is likely that a cheaper S version will appear for Xbox Series X, as was the case with the duo of Xbox One X and Xbox One S. Photos have now appeared on Twitter that could not only reignite the rumors, but also provide tangible information about them - provided the controller shown is real:

The packaging is much more exciting than the controller model itself. On the side of the box there is an indication where the Xbox Series S is mentioned by name with exactly this model designation. The coloring of the white wireless controller is interesting anyway. The images in combination with the "Xbox Series" trademark entry by Microsoft indicate a series of consoles that could run under the umbrella name Xbox Series.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer had confirmed that more information about Xbox will follow later this month. However, it is not known whether this means the unveiling of a cheap Xbox Series S. Although there have already been several references to such a model, Microsoft is silent about it.
