A new leak on the Internet allegedly offers a detailed look at the Nintendo Switch 2. If the rumor is true, one theory would be confirmed: the design of the new console would be almost unchanged.
Industry insiders assume that Nintendo will mainly change the Switch 2 in terms of technology, but will largely rely on the design of its predecessor. According to a new rumor, these assumptions could now actually be confirmed. The leak shows pictures of the alleged console.
Nintendo Switch 2: Leak on the Internet
If you look at the pictures of the allegedly leaked Nintendo Switch 2, you might rub your eyes in amazement, because the successor looks largely the same as its predecessor. Of course, that wouldn't be a surprise, after all, fans are expecting a technical development of a device whose design left little room for criticism.
The images shared on Reddit are causing a stir because Nintendo itself has not yet officially unveiled the successor. The leak cannot be verified at the moment, so one should be cautious - as is usual with unconfirmed information that appears on the Internet. Nevertheless, if the images are actually fake, someone would have gone to great lengths to make the images look real.
Apparently, Nintendo is using a revised (U-shaped) stand for the Switch 2, which fans already know from the OLED model. The improvement compared to the standard Switch is significant. With the original console, the stand was one of the few real points of criticism.
It is unclear whether Nintendo will make any changes to the back of the Nintendo Switch 2. According to the images, there could be some changes to the control units. There may also now be a USB-C port on the top of the console, which is particularly beneficial for fans who want to connect headphones, for example. That would also be a huge improvement.
Nintendo has of course not commented on the rumor. The company plans to unveil the console by March 31, 2025.
