World of Warcraft: Shadowlands has surprisingly been postponed, indefinitely. Now Blizzard has let the Murloc out of the bag and named the release date for WoW: Shadowlands. The new expansion will appear on November 24th - earlier than some fans would have expected.

If Blizzard had stuck to its original plans, one would have been roaming the Shadowlands long ago. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands would have already appeared. A few weeks ago, Blizzard presented the shift, which was surprising for many fans. The new content will now be played on the live server in a timely manner: fans will start the expansion on November 24th, and the pre-patch will of course start earlier.

Raid operations and the PvP season will start at the beginning of December

The journey to the hereafter begins for players on November 24th, more precisely: On the night of November 23rd to 24th, because the start of the expansion is 00.01:11 am. However, there is something for fans to do earlier. Blizzard has dated the pre-event for November XNUMXth, from then on you will be able to get various rewards in the fight against the Scourge.

There is not much time left for this. While it was previously between four and six weeks, this time the pre-event phase only lasts two weeks. So players have to hurry to get all the rewards.

In any case, the developers are pressing hard on the tube in order to fill the rest of 2020 with WoW content. After the start of the expansion, raid players will begin operations on December 9th, when Nathria Castle will open its doors in normal and heroic mode, and the first PvP season and Mythic-Plus will start at the same time. A week later, Castle Nathria is already open in mythical mode and via the raid finder for casual gamers.

The times at a glance:

  • November 11, 2020: Start of the pre-event
  • November 24, 2020: Shadowlands Release
  • December 09th, 2020: Nathria Castle - Normal and Heroic as well as Mythic-plus-Season and PvP-Season
  • December 16, 2020 - Nathria Castle - Mythical and first LFR wing
  • January 6th: Raid Finder Wing 2
  • January 20th: Raid Finder Wing 3
  • February 3rd: Raid Finder Wing 4

Excited about the launch, Blizzard is reaching out directly to fans: “We want to thank everyone in the WoW community who helped us get to this point. That includes all the players who are leveling new characters in the Shadowlands pre-patch (and keeping Azeroth's barbers from getting bored) and all the beta testers who continue to provide us with valuable feedback on the expansion.”

According to a forum entry, the time after the postponement was used to work on improvements and long-term content. The reward system and the covenant system have also been revised. "We look forward to seeing you take your first steps in the Shadowlands and take control of your destiny," the developers said on the official forums.
