The miniatures manufacturer and board game publisher Wizids has announced a cooperation with Wizards of the Coast. New product lines centered around the Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons franchises will be launched later this year. Specifically, it is about accessories and lifestyle products. This means primarily toys, but also game accessories such as "playmats". There will also be clothes based on license use.
In 2021, Wizkids plans to make the first new Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons products available. “We are players and fans of these two popular games ourselves and are delighted us to create products that enhance the gaming experience for lovers of these long-loved franchises," says Wizkids boss Justin Ziran. It is not yet known which products will come onto the market, but Wizkids has given a rough overview of the categories.
Magic and D&D: from action figures to clothes
Through the cooperation with Wizards of the Coast, Wizkids wants to appeal to die-hard fans of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons. The manufacturer of pre-painted miniatures and board games wants to expand its portfolio with "extensive product lines" for the two brands. The new products are scheduled to go on sale this year, and Wizkids has already announced that they will be available worldwide.
Fans and followers of the two popular game franchises can then fall back on game accessories on the one hand, but also on lifestyle products to show their solidarity with their brands. According to Wizkids, the new product categories include action figures, replicas and clothing as well as practical game accessories such as cards, playmats, bags and suitcases. When it comes to aligning the accessories, it sounds like you're trying to take a similar path as Gamegenic is already doing with its line of accessories that are specially designed for different titles.

- D&D miniatures in a cast frame: Premium quality, unpainted, made of high impact polystyrene (HIPS), not pre-assembled, unprinted
- D&D action figures
- D&D color palette
- D&D and Magic: The Gathering replicas of artifacts & props
- D&D accessories: playmats, cards, bags & tote bags
These new product categories complement the previously announced papercraft and 2D miniatures product lines.
"We're excited to expand our strategic partnership with WizKids to include D&D and Magic," said Ann Earp, Director of Licensing at Wizards of the Coast. "We offer a greater variety of products in the most important categories". The stated goal: fans should have even more fun while playing and get access to new collectibles and lifestyle products with which they could show their passion with their friends and family, according to Earp.
