Webedia, the marketer behind magazine brands like Gamestar or Gamepro, has new ideas to stir up the scene: With the first "Gaming Podcast Festival" in Germany, they want to create 125.000 podcast views within four weeks. The festival is a joint project by GameStar, MeinMMO, GamePro and Nerd&Kultur.

Podcasts are one of the modern audio formats, but are obviously not as widespread as one might think given the hype. Correspondingly conservative, Webedia also sets the target for the "first gaming podcast festival in Germany".

It should be 125.000 views in about a month, so gaming podcasters and influencers are on the guest list, who should motivate their followers to listen and participate from May 2nd to 6th.

Webedia Germany is part of the Webedia Group, which was founded in 2007. The French media group is the third largest entertainment publisher in France. Together with its other online platforms in the markets of Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Poland, Great Britain, Italy, the USA and the Middle East, Webedia's entertainment network reaches over 250 million unique users per month worldwide.

Podcast guru Graf: "Celebrating a big podcast party"

"Ever since I took responsibility for our audio formats, I wanted to celebrate a big podcast party with our listeners - now the time has finally come!" says Michael Graf, Head of Podcast at Webedia Gaming.

According to Webedia, the podcast festival is the first of its kind in Germany in the gaming sector. The brands of Webedia Gaming, MeinMMO, GamePro, GameStar and the film podcast Nerd & Kultur have joined forces for the five-day event.

The goals are clear: the festival aims to establish a new format that offers customers an exciting advertising environment in the audio sector. Networking with other podcasts is another part of the strategy. Reach target: 1.500 simultaneous viewers in the live stream and 125.000 podcast listeners in four weeks.

This should succeed thanks to the concept of the festival: live podcasts with current topics every day, high production quality, interaction with listeners and exciting guests.

One-and-a-half-hour talks are planned, moderated by Michael Graf – with an interactive quiz attached. In addition to Webedia faces, each episode will feature guests such as Manuel Fritsch from InsertMoin, Gunnar Lott and Christian Schmidt from StayForever, as well as gaming influencers jessirocks, RoyalPhunk and iKnowReview.

The talks will be streamed on Webedia's Twitch channel MAX and broadcast live on MeinMMO, GamePro and GameStar. The highlight: the community can become part of the episodes via the chat function. The next day, the respective episode will be available on all major podcast platforms. It starts on May 2nd, the last day of the live podcasts is May 6th. The festival will be prominently advertised on Webedia's gaming websites and in the MeinMMO and GameStar podcasts in advance to ensure maximum attention
