PlayFusion and Games Workshop recently announced that the trading card game Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions will be coming to Nintendo Switch on April 16.

Crossplay enables: physical becomes digital

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions brings a real platform innovation for the popular TCG genre - as a modern variant of trading card games, it enables real cross-play between digital and physical versions. Players can scan physical cards into their collection to claim them and bring them to the battlefield.

Use the tailor-made decks from one of the four major alliances and challenge friend or foe around the world and on all platforms! The Nintendo Switch version supports full crossplay with Steam and mobile devices. Players can enjoy Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions on the go with Joy-Con and touchscreen support, or just play at home.

“The response to the physical and digital game has already been incredible and we can't wait to see it rise to new heights. With the upcoming release of our Set 3 cards in Savagery and a whole host of new features like Arena of Echoes and Realm Trials, there will always be something new to discover. And now there will be a much larger community to discover it with. "

Mark Gehard, CEO and Co-Founder of PlayFusion

The launch of the Nintendo Switch version brings players a brand new, massive single player adventure with Realm Trials. With dozens of hours of content, players will fight legendary battles to conquer the Mortal Realms! In addition, players can experience a whole new kind of combat in the new mode: Arena of Echoes.

Players choose from two given alliances and create their own decks from a random selection of cards. They then fight their way through a series of league rounds to gain access to the price gauntlet. But whoever loses falls through the ranks and ends his run!

Realm Trials and Arena of Echoes join a range of narrative campaigns, various game modes such as Ranked and Casual Play, as well as seasonal leaderboards and challenges.

The banners of war will be blowing in the wind when Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions launches on Nintendo Switch on April 16.
