Warhammer fans can look forward to the release of the turn-based tactical role-playing game Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters in the coming year. In order to shorten the time it takes for the game to be released for PC, the developers at Complex Games, together with Frontier Foundry and Games Workshop, have now published the first part of a developer diary.

Frontier Foundry, the games label from Frontier Developments, has published the first part of a series of developer diaries for the upcoming turn-based tactical role-playing game Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, which is being developed in collaboration with developer Complex Games and the Warhammer 40.000 Creator Games Workshop .

Next-gen versions postponed after replacement

The first part of the three-part video series, “Episode 1 - Beyond the Gate”, offers players an overview of the central game mechanics of Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters, presented by Creative Director Noah Decter-Jackson. Together with art director Jonas Van Niekerk and lead designer Peter Schnabl, the team from Complex Games presents the players with an introduction to the two gameplay levels of the game.

The first, tactical combat, offers total control on an ever-changing battlefield, from adapting and mastering your own combat force on the ground to using obstacles and sources of danger in the area. The second part, strategic management, includes the administration and repair of the battlecruiser 'The Baleful Edict' as well as overseeing the galaxy-wide fight against 'The Bloom'.

The first dev diary explains why players can look forward to taking on this challenge as the Gray Knights. The compelling narrative is penned by legendary Black Library author Aaron Dembski-Bowden, and the game features some unique changes to the traditional turn-based genre format to better match the overwhelming power and elite training of Space Marine Chapter 666.

Complex Games is also exploring the legacy of the Chaos Gate setting, an important source of inspiration for the developers and an exciting element for fans of the Warhammer 40.000 universe.

With the first seed of 'The Bloom' in the air, players can look forward to the second installment in the Dev Diary series, where they will learn more about the warp spawn lurking in the shadows awaiting the call of the Nurgle .

Warhammer 40.000: Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters will be available for PC on Steam and in the Epic Games Store in 2022, will be published by Frontier Foundry and can now be added to the wish list there.
