The Renegade Game Studios want to bring several board games back to the tables: a reprint is planned for Axis and Allies, among others. Appropriate negotiations with the license holder Hasbro are running.

Renegade Game Studios regularly releases games based on popular licenses, including Power Rangers and Transformers. For a new project, however, the publisher is sometimes looking at older brands: According to the publisher, new editions of Axis & Allies, Diplomacy, Squad Leader and Robo Rally are to appear.

Cooperation with Hasbro from 2023

Above all, the cooperation on Axis and Allies should make fans of war games sit up and take notice: despite its age, the strategic title is still a popular - and at the same time extensive - war game that has at most few alternatives on the market. With a reprint, Renegade Game Studios could also visually revamp the board game.

As the publisher has announced, from 2023 they will be working with Hasbro on plans to produce all versions of the brands mentioned for the hobby, mass and special markets. In addition to the games themselves, the partnership also wants to focus on the trappings: the plans include a new website for the war board game Axis & Allies and a world championship. In addition, one would like to involve the fans in the selection of new topics. Content that has not yet been conceptualized should therefore also be implemented for the market. Among other things, versions that have been out of print for a long time are to be reprinted, i.e. produced again.

Fans of Robo Rally and Diplomacy can also look forward to new editions of these two brands.

"We are proud to be working with Hasbro and are delighted with the success of the partnership," said Scott Gaeta, President and Publisher of Renegade Game Studios. All titles belonged to the most recognized brands in the gaming world. "Our team is looking forward to diving in and getting to work," says Gaeta.

In addition to these titles, Renegade will also release new versions of Risk themed around popular Hasbro brands GI Joe, Transformers and Power Rangers. More information on these releases will be released in the coming months.

“We are excited to be collaborating with Renegade Game Studios on these iconic Hasbro strategy games from 2023. We hope fans look forward to adding new battles and themes to their collection for the Axis & Allies brand, expanding on their 41-year history,” said Jess Richardson, VP, Global Toy & Game, Licensed Consumer Products at Hasbro.
