Home cinema instead of the big screen was the motto this year. But not only Netflix and Co. fuel the domestic film experience, many small and large film buffs still like to fill their DVD shelves. The most successful DVD and Blu-ray films are now listed in the official German annual video charts 2020, determined by GfK Entertainment. The production giants Disney and Warner are particularly well represented. The animated film Frozen 2 and the latest offshoot of the Star Wars series Star Wars - Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker can even be found in both charts. The second part of the modern Disney fairy tale tops the list of DVDs, while the comic drama Joker made it to the top of the Blu-ray charts.

The market research company GfK Entertainment has published the annual charts for home theater films. Two Disney blockbusters, which were able to establish themselves at the top of both top lists, were particularly successful. This also includes the partly controversial last part of the current Star Wars trilogy: Star Wars - Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
