After the successful restart of the toy fair, planning for the 73rd edition is progressing. The organizer, Spielwarenmesse eG, is now announcing the date, which is set at the usual time at the beginning of the year: from January 30 to February 3, 2024.
The new trade fair date results in an optimized sequence of days: instead of Wednesday to Sunday as before, the trade fair will in future be held from Tuesday to Saturday at the exhibition center in Nuremberg. This decision was preceded by the annual frequency analysis and the exhibitor and visitor survey, which is carried out among the participants of the toy fair.
According to the survey, Sunday proved to be largely unsuitable. The clear feedback came from the participants from Germany as well as from the international side. "On the other hand, there was a clear desire for an additional day during the week," emphasizes Christian Ulrich, Spokesman for the Board of Directors of Spielwarenmesse eG. "At the same time, we are taking into account the needs of the specialist retail trade, which plays an important role in Germany in particular, and are keeping the trade fair Saturday for them." By choosing the new date, the world's leading trade fair is showing its proximity to the target group and is acting flexibly with regard to current market conditions.
