The Spielwarenmesse 2022 in Nuremberg is to take place from February 2nd to 6th - on site and also with an online part. In the meantime, the organizers have developed a hygiene concept in order to be prepared for the start in February. Prepare yourself for 2G, it was said.
The toy world is in the starting blocks: From February 2nd to 6th, the long-awaited wish of exhibitors, visitors and media representatives to finally meet live again at the world's most important industry event will come true. The response to the Toy Fair in Nuremberg so far has been positive - however, the current pandemic development in Germany is also leading to questions among the trade fair participants. The organizer, Spielwarenmesse eG, provides information about the hygiene concept and other protective measures so that everyone benefits from a safe trade fair experience.
Coordinated hygiene concept
"The hygiene concept that we developed with the health authorities and NürnbergMesse guarantees that the Spielwarenmesse will be held under safe conditions," emphasizes Christian Ulrich, spokesman for the Spielwarenmesse eG board. Thanks to the generous distribution of space and the constant supply of fresh air in the halls, the conditions are comparable to those in retail.
In total, the 170.000 square meter exhibition center has an occupancy rate of 80 percent compared to the last event in 2020. More than 1.800 exhibitors from 64 countries have firmly registered their participation in the toy fair. According to the organizers, the decline in exhibitors is partly due to the travel restrictions in Asian countries.
The trade fair organizers are keeping an eye on the current regulations in Germany: “Two months before the start, we are preparing for a 2G concept. Even if there is no relaxation, we can run the Spielwarenmesse without a hitch under these conditions, ”explains Ulrich. The announced international participation would only influence this to a lesser extent: According to the international representative network of the Spielwarenmesse, the vaccination rate among the exhibitors and visitors who want to come to Nuremberg is above average.
Due to the special situation, trade visitors can only purchase day tickets online. There will be no ticket counters on site. Admission controls and disinfectant dispensers contribute to further security at the Spielwarenmesse. Test capacities will also be available on the exhibition grounds. In addition, surfaces that are frequently used are regularly disinfected. The catering concept also complies with the applicable legal requirements.
The safety and hygiene measures are constantly being adapted to current conditions and published on the Spielwarenmesse website: www.spielwarenmesse.de.
"Based on these precautions and implementations, we are convinced that we can hold a successful toy fair in order to further stimulate the industry motor", Christian Ulrich sums up.
