At The Game Awards, 2K and Gearbox Software gave brand new insights into Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, the highly anticipated fantasy exponent of the looter shooter genre, which will be released on March 25, 2022. From the all-star cast, Will Arnett (the Dragon Lord) and Ashly Burch (Tiny Tina) were on stage, announcing the trailer with allusions to the epic characters they lend the English voices to in the game.
The trailer provides an early look at the story of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, in which the totally unpredictable Tiny Tina guides players through a Bunkers & Badasses tabletop RPG adventure.
Player as a doombringer
As the bringer of fate, the players have the course of the story in their hands. While trying to stop the tyrannical Dragon Lord and his skeletal army, they can explore an amazing land full of weird monsters and dungeons full of loot.
Fans also got a glimpse into the unforgettable characters who accompany this game, including the idiosyncratic Captain Valentine and the rule-obsessed robot Frette.
New details on key characters are now in the Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Game Guide, including:
- The Dragon Lord is a powerful necromancer and Tina's longest-lived villain. He has been trying for eons to conquer Wonderlands and remove the traces of heroism. A lesser villain would have given up by now, but the Dragon Lord has a devious plan to break the cycle and defeat his adversaries once and for all;
- Valentine would describe himself as a dashing warhorse with a penchant for danger and heroic flair. Others describe him more as a "scrapped cheap space pirate". He loves Bunkers & Badasses, likes to play the gallant rescuer and delves into the story. He likes quick action, long-term consequences not so much;
- Hurry had an office job as an accounting bot for decades until her employer filed for bankruptcy on fire after a chance encounter with Valentine (legally different from ordinary bankruptcy). Having no interest in being auctioned off to pay off debts, Frette left the planet with Valentine and has been its navigator ever since. She tries to keep Valentine out of trouble, but her options are also limited;
- torgue is the founder of the Torgue Flammable Pistol Society. He is a manic screamer who has left his fortune and castles behind to live as a traveling musician. Torgue may be only a half-bard, but what he lacks in talent he doesn't make up for in knowledge. He can cast spells with his magical sound, but since he has no control over it, you never know what will come of it.
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will be released on March 25, 2022 for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and exclusively through the Epic Games Store for PC. Further digital stores for PC will follow in the course of 2022. The game can now be pre-ordered for all starting platforms. Tiny Tinas Wonderlands, developed by Gearbox Software, is expected to be released with an age rating of 16 years and over.
