The best damage classes in patch 11.0.2 are emerging. At the start of The War Within, the latest expansion to the MMO World of Warcraft, three classes are likely to be particularly popular in Mythic+.
The new expansion is here, and fans of World of Warcraft can embark on new adventures with their characters. This of course also includes instances that ambitious players can tackle on Mythic+ difficulty to obtain high-level equipment. Because the beta has been running for some time, particularly good damage classes can already be identified. Three classes are currently performing particularly well in Mythic+.
The best damage classes for Mythic+
In the first season, those players who play Reinforcement Callers, Frost Death Knights or Assassin Rogues - in exactly that order - can especially celebrate. Arcane Mages and Fury Warriors, for example, are also strong, but they are not as efficient as the three DPS specializations mentioned above.
Despite all the love for bare numbers and DPS rankings in The War Within, one thing is certain: you should always ask yourself whether you are having fun with a class and not just playing it because of a good ranking in a tier list. This can have a huge impact on the damage actually dealt: theory and practice are sometimes very different when it comes to getting the most out of a class. For example, a Beast Mastery Hunter played with passion can perform better than an Assassination Rogue in the hands of the same player. Ultimately, it also depends on the experience you have gained with your favorite class so far. This is often worth more than a strong damage specialization on paper.
Nevertheless, there are tier lists and, if played correctly, some classes are particularly strong. This also applies to the launch of the new World of Warcraft expansion The War Within. Anyone who wants to quickly get through the instances on Mythic+ difficulty should at least know who they would like to have at their side as a DPS class when things get tough:
Reinforcement Caller: High DPS and Utility
The developers have pulled off a real coup with the Caller as a class. In Mythic+, the reinforcement spec shines with its combination of high damage numbers and good utility for the group. Blizzard has combined two things here that are rarely found together. Because: Even if the Caller is useful due to its DPS, the entire group ultimately benefits from this specialization thanks to the strong buffs. If you put together the perfect group for Mythic+, this class specialization in particular should have a permanent place.
Added to this is the enormously strong tier set bonus, which further increases the burst damage that is important for Mythic+. The Evoker is also not that easy to take down, he is mobile and easily dodges enemy effects.
Assassination Rogue in Mythic+: Top-notch Solo DPS
The rogue and his single-target damage - that has always been outstanding in World of Warcraft. This has not changed with the launch of The War Within. Rogues are particularly successful in dealing a lot of damage quickly in the Assassination specialization, which ultimately makes players of this spec particularly welcome in Mythic+.
With the new tier set, Blizzard has also ironed out a weakness: By increasing the poison damage, the Assassination Rogue remains a relevant damage dealer even over the course of longer fights. In high keystone levels, you can therefore take him with you without hesitation, and you may even have to if you want to perform particularly well as a group.
Mythic+ as a Frost Death Knight: Lots of damage for a long time
Because fights sometimes take a long time, it is important to deal consistently high damage. The Frost Death Knight is currently doing well at this, and with patch 11.0.2 of The War Within, he has managed to secure a top spot among the most efficient class specializations for Mythic+.
In addition to its good defensive abilities, it is particularly the lack of real weaknesses that make the Frost DK an outstanding choice for Mythic+. The specialization shines both in terms of damage to single targets and to groups.
The burst damage is enormous, but at the same time the Frost Death Knight can also deal a decent amount of damage in the general course of combat. In addition, there is good utility for the group, so you will be happy to have this specialization on your side. The revisions to the talent tree are particularly noticeable, and the tier set is one of the best in the game in terms of its bonuses.
The selection of the top 3 is based on the DPS values determined so far during the beta, as well as taking into account the general usefulness in group situations. If it comes to fights, you will certainly notice different results. What could be the reason for this? The players themselves. In WoW, it has always been and still is the case: If you are good at your class, you should be a welcome player in any group.
