At Nvidia's GeForce RTX: Game On Showcase event, Nvidia and the Bloober Team, creators behind gamer-loved horror games like Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux, and Layers of Fear, today announced a joint collaboration for the upcoming video game. The partnership is said to be an implementation of real-time ray tracing support for psychological horror game The Medium, due for release on January 28th.
The video game will thus offer its players the concentrated power of the latest version of Unreal Engine 4, Microsoft DirectX Raytracing and Nvidia DLSS technology to improve the graphics of the game, in particular to display reflections and shadows in real-time raytracing. With this, Nvidia and the Bloober team have taken on the ambitious task of allowing the players of the new horror title, with the help of ray tracing - powered by DLSS, to delve deeper into the environment of the game world, while paralleling the chilling challenges and puzzles of The Medium try to solve in two worlds. This could have a positive effect on this title in particular, because, among other things, the game world is one of the “stars” of the horror game.
The Medium should offer a graphic experience
The horror game The Medium can, with a pre-order discount of ten percent, for Xbox Series X | S consoles and the PC on the game's website www.themediumgame.com, via Steam, via the Epic Games Store and via the Microsoft Store, for a price of 49,99 euros can be pre-ordered. Players who pre-order via Steam will receive the original soundtrack by The Medium, by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski, and the digital art book "The Art of The Medium". The game was rated “M for Mature” (for adults) by the testing centers ESRB and PEGI 18, which decide on the age recommendations for players.
The Medium is slated to be released on January 28th. The composers Akira Yamaoka, known for his collaboration on the sound of the series "Silent Hill", and Arkadiusz Reikowski, from the Bloober Team, worked together on the dual soundtrack, which is supposed to accompany the horror game in its two worlds with eerily beautiful sounds.
