It's time to return to Middle-earth and put yourself in the shoes of the fantasy world's most popular anti-hero. After more than four years of blood, sweat and raw fish, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum from Daedalic Entertainment and NACON is out today on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The Hamburg developers are proud to release a story-focused adventure based on one of the biggest IPs a German studio has ever had the privilege to work on.
Carsten Fichtelmann, CEO of Daedalic Entertainment, about Gollum: “We are very proud of how closely our game follows the lore created by Professor Tolkien. The narrative adventure is a real treasure for Lord of the Rings fans! Players can look forward to new faces and old acquaintances.”

More informationThe Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a story-driven adventure inspired by the world of books. Players embark on a perilous journey as Gollum to recover his treasure. They climb, jump or sneak past dangers and seek advantageous positions to strike from behind the scenes. Gollum is skillful and cunning, yet divided internally by his two personalities. It is up to the players whether they obey the darker side of Gollum or trust the gentle side of Sméagol. The journey takes them from the depths of Mordor to the beautiful kingdom of the elves. On this eventful journey, players will meet both new and familiar characters in a story deeply rooted in the lore of Middle-earth.
“Working with Daedalic has been a fantastic experience for all of us at Middle-earth Enterprises,” says Director of Brand & Licensing, Fredrica Drotos. "We very much look forward to the reactions of Middle-earth fans to Daedalic's deep dive into the unique and complex Staring Hobbit, Sméagol or Gollum, who is equally powered by forces within and beyond his control."
The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was developed by a small team of passionate Tolkien fans at Daedalic Entertainment in collaboration with Middle-earth Enterprises and co-published by Daedalic and NACON. The game will be released digitally for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S. Physical console versions are also available. A version for Nintendo Switch is scheduled for later this year.
