There are games that fans are happy to release. And then there are games that fans can hardly wait for their release. One of them is definitely The Elders Scrolls 6. In 2018 at E3, Bethesda officially announced the successor and now - two years later - a release seems hardly any closer. Should fans still have hoped for surprising news about an early release of The Elder Scrolls 6, this has now been dispelled - by Bethesda itself and thus officially.
Admittedly, a release of The Elder Scrolls 6 would have been rather unlikely, at least in the foreseeable future - even with an optimistic view. At E3 in 2018, Bethesda announced the successor to the popular role-playing game series, at the time with a short tracking shot over an unspecified mountain landscape and a rather superficial game title. It is unlikely that The Elder Scrolls 6 will simply be called The Elder Scrolls 6, with no subtitles or other details. Nevertheless: The fans were very happy.
Bethesda: The Elders Scrolls 6 follows Starfield
Pete Hines, Vice President Marketing at Bethesda, makes it clear: Fans will have to wait many years for The Elder Scrolls 6. Todd Howard announced at PAX East last year that the successor will be a long time coming. Nevertheless: Quite a few fans were expecting new information about The Elder Scrolls 6 for this year.
After the cancellation of this year's E3 and the announcement by Bethesda that they would not offer their own digital show due to the little material that could be shown, the optimism of the fans waned. Some continued to have hopes - until now.
Pete Hines makes it clear that the sci-fi game Starfield is currently a priority and that little details have been published about this title. From this it can be concluded: The Elder Scrolls 6 is still a long way from a release.
It's after Starfield, which you pretty much know nothing about. So if you're coming to me for details now and not years from now, I'm failing to properly manage your expectations.

In any case, not much is known about The Elder Scrolls 6. You know that the game will definitely come, but when, that's in the stars. Although TES6 was announced in 2018, it was quiet about the title afterwards.
“Redfall” is traded as a possible subtitle. Zenimax Media's subsidiary Bethesda now holds this brand after a brief legal dispute. However, it is not known whether "Redfall" is actually related to The Elder Scrolls. The name at least sounds appropriate for a TES successor. Redfall is at least not an – officially known – place in Tamriel. There were rumors among fans that it could be some kind of plague that would cause the skin of the sick to turn red. While this is speculation, the theories come from fans familiar with the history of The Elder Scrolls.
Can the Elder Scrolls 6 release be narrowed down?
At the moment, any indication of a possible release date for The Elder Scrolls 6 is purely speculative. Not even a time frame can be outlined from the current information. What is certain is that The Elder Scrolls 6 will only come after the Starfield project.

Because Bethesda has been busy with this project for several years (including preliminary considerations), it can be assumed that Starfield will require extensive resources and a long development time. Starfield is said to have been playable at the time of E3 2019. More information about the title is not known - so it will probably be some time before the release of Starfield, and even more until the release of The Elder Scrolls 6.
The first details on TES6 are not expected until the development work is fully started, i.e. after the release of Starfield. It's unlikely that fans would see early concepts for a sequel beforehand - at least that wasn't the case with Oblivion or Skyrim. Both titles were presented to the public for the first time as near-finished games.
