Publisher Modus Games and developer Rain Games today revealed the first gameplay of Teslagrad 2. This is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2 million+ selling puzzle platforming adventure Teslagrad.
The original team behind the acclaimed 2013 hit has returned to create the mysterious and melancholic new environment of Teslagrad 2. Fans of the franchise will get it on PC in spring 2023, Nintendo Switch, PS 5, PS 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.
Puzzle platforming adventure with great style
The Teslagrad 2 trailer follows new heroine Lumina as she crash-lands in an uncharted territory and discovers an ancient tower full of technology. On her journey, Lumina harnesses the forgotten art of Teslamancy. Her electromagnetic abilities help her solve mind-bending physics-based puzzles, explore twisted caves and factories, and outwit the mysterious enemies and traps that await.
"I've dreamed of developing Teslagrad 2 for years," says Peter Wingaard Meldahl, project leader at Rain Games. "The story, gameplay and mechanics have been on my mind since we released the original and it's really an amazing feeling to see that dream come true."
"We are thrilled to be working with Rain Games," said Christina Seelye, CEO of Modus Games. “Teslagrad 2 is being developed by the same talented team that worked on the first game. So we know the fans will be as excited as we are for the new installment.”
The game's hand-drawn graphics use pastel colors and muted tones. This brings glimpses of untamed nature to life, as well as steampunk visions of old Europe inspired by Scandinavian culture and folklore. Lumina's mastery of Teslamancy makes traversing the grim environments of Teslagrad 2 a unique experience. It allows the player to manipulate realistic physics and unique powers to overcome obstacles and survive surreal dangers.
