Talisman – Star Wars is now available in English via USAopoly, also in Germany. The thematic decoupling of the adventure board game Talisman based on George Lucas' sci-fantasy epic uses the well-known principle of the quest-driven game and lets players slip into the roles of Jedi or Sith. There will also be a German version of Talisman – Star Wars, but only in the summer. The publisher Pegasus Player takes care of the localization.

“Star Wars – Talisman combines the classic roll-and-move adventure platformer with a generational storyline, allowing players to join the fray as a Jedi or Sith, hone their strength and fight one another to defeat the Empire or the to become a true Sith apprentice”, this is how USAopoly describes the board game, whose greatest strength with this edition probably lies in the powerful license.

Talisman - Star Wars: Adventure with famous characters

Last year USAopoly and Games Workshop canceled the thematic version of the classic board game - on May 4th. At that time there was not a lot of information about the new board game, which is basically based on the familiar framework. The focus is on various popular characters from the Star Wars universe: Rey, Ahsoka Tano, Count Dooku, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Ezra Bridger, Kylo Ren, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Mace Windu, Grand Inquisitor and Seventh Sister.

The board game is now available in English, with a German version following in the summer Pegasus Spiele. Talisman is expected to be released in August – Star Wars then appear, the publisher states this on its website. Amazon, however, indicates June 15th as the date of availability.

With the release of the game, the war between good and evil is raging again in a galaxy far, far away. Players are then again in the thick of it. In Talisman - Star Wars Edition, players embody the iconic characters from the template and visit the equally well-known homeworlds and planets from the Star Wars saga. The goal for both parties: to overthrow Emperor Palpatine from the throne in order to bring peace back to the galaxy or to usurp rulership himself.

The Talisman – Star Wars Edition is a completely independent game that applies the Talisman principle Star Warsuniverse transmits. Players gradually develop their character, equip it and use various power skills. The well-known roll-and-move concept is retained: When it is a player's turn, he rolls the dice and moves his figure forward the number of spaces rolled. Encounters then occur there: places or characters of the opposite mindset trigger game actions. The board game is aimed at two to six players aged around twelve and up and takes between one and a half and two hours per game.

The original is a real classic as a board game. Talisman appeared for the first time in 1993, at that time via Games Workshop. What followed were numerous new editions and now also spin-offs. Even the newest, fourth edition is now "old iron". Most recently, Fantasy Flight Games was able to publish reprints thanks to a license agreement with Games Workshop. However, the license expired in 2016. Talisman - Star Wars Edition is originally published through USAopoly, who have experience distributing licensed board games. The German version of Talisman – Star Wars, which will be released via Pegasus Games, is expected to cost around 55 euros in stores.
