Survival sim Stranded: Alien Dawn soon in Early Access

Frontier Foundry, the games label of Frontier Developments, today unveiled Stranded: Alien Dawn, the new planetary survival sim, coming to PC via Steam in Early Access this October. Stranded on an alien world, the fate of a small group of survivors depends on the player's decisions.

Developed by Haemimont Games, creators of the hit sci-fi strategic city builder Surviving Mars, Stranded: Alien Dawn challenges players to overcome danger and ensure their diverse band of survivors survive in their strange new environment.

Profound decisions about life and death

Combining modular base building with deep resource management, research, crafting, and more, players start Stranded: Alien Dawn with nothing but the basics. Along the way, they discover beautiful but deadly new environments in which to build their own base. They battle mysterious diseases, extreme weather conditions, and alien wildlife attacks, with the needs of the survivors at the heart of every decision.

Whether players want to turn their crash site into a sprawling sanctuary or a fortified facility, gathering nearby resources is essential to finding the ideal materials to build and protect the survivors' new base. Researching new technologies and acquiring knowledge are also vital to enable survivors to make advances that will broaden their horizons.

While protection and safety are key to success, taking care of each member of the group is critical to long-term survival. Players must use their individual strengths, weaknesses, and traits to help the survivors band together, adapt, and overcome unforeseen circumstances. They can craft weapons, hunt, forage and grow food, develop medicines, and provide entertainment for the group to ensure their physical and mental well-being on a faraway planet.
