Nintendo not only announces some free update for Super Mario Maker 2, but the final update. However, that brings a lot of new content: the “build the world” mode, Koopalinge and numerous new level elements. Players can unleash their creativity more than ever before. Incidentally, the update will be released on Wednesday.

Not just the extremely popular Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch gets an update this week, fans of Super Mario Maker 2 can also look forward to more content - including a completely new mode.

Super Mario Maker 2: “Build the World” part of the final update

On April 22nd, Nintendo is knocking out the final update and a real content bomb for Super Mario Maker 2. The new “Build World” mode, with which players can do just that: build entire worlds, should be particularly interesting. A short trailer shows what that looks like:

Several built levels can be combined into a coherent game world, promises Nintendo. The starting point and end are determined by the players themselves. When everything is done, you fight your way in the best Mario style over a map through several jump'n 'run levels up to the castle. Particularly cool: even the design of the world map can be customized.

Up to 40 courses can be linked, Nintendo reveals in the official announcement of the final update for Super Mario Maker 2. Fans can create their own Mario world according to their personal preferences.

In addition to the new mode, which is clearly the heart of the final update, other features come into play. With the update, fans get access to more villains: the Koopalinge. All seven henchmen of the main villain Bowser can then - each with their own movement pattern - be built into the platforming environment. The mask-like key keeper Phanto, the wind-up Robo-Koopas and other villains are also added as new opponents, reveals Nintendo.

The free update also gives players more power-ups and level components, including the mushroom from Super Mario Bros. 2, which gives Mario and his friends the look they had in the adventure of the same name. This enables them to pick up objects as well as opponents and throw them.

Also brand new: the frog suit from Super Mario Bros. 3, with which Mario can swim through bodies of water and even walk on them. It is still a long way from being there. There are also other power-ups, such as the power balloon from Super Mario World, the super acorn from New Super Mario Bros. U and the boomerang flower from Super Mario 3D World. Five other aids such as the cannon box and the propeller box come from the same game.
