Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury releases in February for Nintendo Switch. Now the Japanese console manufacturer has released a new trailer that shows around two minutes of gameplay from the game as well as a new world and a particularly nasty version of the main villain Bowser. The game is a port of the Wii U classic Super Mario 3D World and can be played both solo and in co-op mode.
With Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, another classic comes to the fore Nintendo Switch, albeit in a new guise. Fans of the original don't have to change: all levels, power-ups and basic gameplay have been retained. With a significant change that is already evident from the title of the platformer: With Bowser's Fury, new content is also part of the game. Nintendo has now released a new trailer that reveals more about what players can expect in February.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury: New world and angry giant boss
The fact that new content would find its way into the game Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury had long been known and is also obvious given the title. So far, however, it was not known what exactly "Bowser's Fury" would be about. Now it's clear: It's about the well-known villain, but in an enormously large and enormously evil version.

Super Mario 3D World offered HD graphics in a three-dimensional game world on the Wii-U. The title came out just in time for the Christmas business in 2013. A core element were the numerous power-ups that gave the character additional skills and also changed its appearance. One of the highlights was certainly the cat shape that could be assumed by using the super bell. The few cat Mario could climb walls and attack opponents with a jump attack. As part of the development, requests from the fans were also incorporated, primarily a multiplayer mode. This has also been announced for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury: You can either tackle the game in a solo mode or with up to three other players in co-op. Both the local game mode and online multiplayer are supported, but this requires an active subscription to the Nintendo Online Service.
Another highlight was the game's soundtrack: the music comes from the pens of the four video game composers Mahito Yokota, Kōji Kondō, Toru Minegishi and Yasuaki Iwata and was partly recorded by an orchestra and a big band.
That Cat-Mario finds his way back into the new edition should hardly come as a surprise. In the new trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Nintendo shows plenty of gameplay action from the jumping game, which will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch, over a period of around two minutes. Mario teams up with Bowser Junior to stop the Mega Bowser from destroying the world. The basic premise is known, but the new world has not been so far. As the trailer suggests, it is likely to be a freely accessible 3D world in which players have to overcome various obstacles, but also solve puzzles. Bowser Junior always seems to be at Mario's side and also intervenes to help in the fights.
It remains to be seen who the new mega version of Bowser finds its way into the story. The new trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury gives no clues about this. But the fact is: Mario and the nasty giant tortoise will meet.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury releases February 12th for Nintendo Switch. Along with this new expansion, players will also receive the original Wii U game with various graphical improvements.
Blue and red Nintendo Switch accompanies Super Mario release
As Nintendo also announced, two new amiibo figures will appear at the same time as the game: Cat Mario and Cat Peach will be available in a double pack and offer special functions in the game. Bowser and Bowser Jr. also play a prominent role in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, which is why their amiibo figures also offer special functions - and will be available again in stores.
Even better for fans and collectors: The Japanese console manufacturer has also announced a special Nintendo Switch edition. The Nintendo Switch Mario Edition in red and blue is reminiscent of Mario's famous outfit and will also be available from February 12th.
This special version includes two red Joy-Con controllers with blue wrist straps and a red Nintendo Switch station. The Nintendo Switch console is also kept red - and is therefore available in a different color for the first time. Also included are a red and blue bag and a protective film.
