Summer, sun, vacation - so off to the island. Nintendo is stepping up with Animal Crossing: New Horizons and is releasing the summer update on July 3rd, which focuses on the water worlds of the island paradise. Everything then - typically summer - revolves around swimming, diving and discovering. The summer slump, feared by gamers, should not be an issue, at least for fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Especially not because Nintendo wants to announce more content in August.

From July 3rd, fans will be able to access the new content free of charge, which Nintendo will then make available with the summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Thematically, everything revolves around activities during the poor season.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons gets summery content

Nintendo is calling for Animal Crossing: New Horizons the summer fun in the island paradise: here's to the fans of the life sim for Nintendo Switch Several free updates await from July 3rd. First, players will finally get the opportunity to go swimming. Because this doesn't just take place in knee-deep water, fans can also go on a discovery tour and dive for sea creatures.

A short trailer gives a glimpse of the contents of the first Summer Update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons:

There are also new characters and items, including furniture from the Mermaid series. But that's not all: the residents of the virtual island can also look forward to more innovations over the course of the summer. This should ensure plenty of water fun. Animal Crossing: New Horizons for Nintendo Switch will be expanded to include three core pieces of content: Swimming and diving, handicrafts and Gulliver ?!

When swimming and diving, fans slip into a diving suit and explore the underwater world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In the coastal waters, they can swim, dive and find marine animals that inhabit the island's ecosystem. A tip: It is worth looking out for new exhibits for the museum, for example. Anyone who shows their discoveries to the museum owl Eugen will be presented with some fun facts.

Johannes' handicraft instructions are given to players after they have met the friendly sea otter while they are swimming. Johannes is crazy about scallops. It goes without saying that he asks if he can have any mussels discovered while diving. Not without consideration: As a thank you, the players receive handicraft instructions for furniture from the aforementioned Mermaid series.

There is also a surprise with the summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. After downloading the free update, "someone" will occasionally wash up on the shore of the island. This "someone" appears familiar but is dressed like a pirate. Once players give him the support he needs, he sends them a very special reward to show his gratitude.

Because summer doesn't end in July, Nintendo will add new content as early as next month. In early August, Nintendo will announce details of another free update for Animal Crossing. This content should then also be particularly suitable for the warm season.
