Paradox Interactive today announces The Machine Age, a new expansion for the science fiction strategy game Stellaris. Scientists have discovered advanced methods to communicate with machines, allowing life to transcend the biological limitations of body and mind.
Machine Age ushers in an era of technological glory, but one that also raises new ethical and social dilemmas. In this time of unbridled ambition, new threats arise that question the very meaning of life. The Machine Age is being developed by Paradox Development Studio and is coming soon to PC.
The trailer for The Machine Age can be seen here:
Players can face a new synthetic threat in a brand new endgame crisis, or become a threat to the balance of the universe themselves in a new crisis path. Your machine empires are no longer limited to one form, but can have individual personalities and more diverse histories and origins. Players can further customize their empire with 3 new machine ascension paths.
As players delve deeper into the mind of the machine, they must face new challenges for their society. Every decision matters, and the only certainty is that their empire will never be the same after they ascend. There are also three new origins.
The Machine Age also includes new reactive portraits, 6 new status items, 2 new mid-game structures (the Molten Arc Furnace and the mighty Dyson Swarm), new population traits, and 7 brand new music tracks for the best synthetic beats!
