Players will be able to download the first Games with Gold of the new year shortly. Also in January there are four free games for the consoles of the Xbox family, including two titles especially for the Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One, two more titles for Xbox 360, which can, however, also be played on the consoles of the new generations.

A total of four free games are available in January for subscribers to the Xbox Live or Game Pass Ultimate service, which already includes live membership. Xbox fans will even start 2021 on New Year's Day with a very good title.

Little Nightmares for Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One

Little Nightmares is available January 1st through January 31st on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Game can immerse themselves in the world of Little Nightmares and experience a dark story that confronts the fears of their own childhood. This is how you help the young girl named Six to escape from the Maw - a mysterious island full of lost souls just looking for their next meal. "Awaken the child in you and unleash the power of your imagination to escape the horror," invites Xbox.

Little Nightmares received solid to good ratings from critics, and the game was even better received by fans. On Metacritic, the average score is 78, users gave a total of 8.0. The disturbing story, the graphic presentation and the atmospheric design are particularly praised.

The King of Fighters XIII

The King of Fighters XIII will be available January 1-15 on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Players will then experience a new version of the popular classic. They upgrade their Hyper Drive to unleash devastating strikes and deadly combos. Why? To face demanding battles and experience the final chapter of the Ash Saga - full of anger, betrayal and rousing twists and turns.

With the atmospheric story mode, the sophisticated online versus mode and many other modes as well as two characters exclusive to console, there is definitely no boredom.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will be available in the second week of January. The game is available for free from January 16 to February 15 on Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One as part of Games with Gold. With the new offshoot, the bestseller Trine returns and unleashes the magic in a new, atmospheric 2.5D perspective. Players look forward to seeing the three protagonists again and go on a quest with the heroes through fantastic and fairytale landscapes to save the world from the nightmares of the Nightmare Prince.

The extremely positive ratings for Trine 4 make it clear: Here players can expect a real highlight at the start of the year. Even if not all fans were satisfied, Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince is an above-average representative in the 2.5D genre.
