For SPIEL'24, Asmodee has some special cards for Star Wars: Unlimited in your luggage. The "2024 Convention Exclusive Pack" contains special versions of some trading cards. However, you won't be able to pick up the goodie spontaneously: you have to register for a slot.
Promo cards from trading card games are in demand, even fans of Star Wars: Unlimited know this. For the upcoming games fair in Essen from October 3rd to 6th, Fantasy Flight Games and Asmodee have six special variants of the characters ready - "strictly limited," the publisher announced.
Pick up after booking an appointment
The promo package will cost a round sum of 100 euros, limited to one per person. "We will cancel multiple bookings so that the ticket can be available to another person," says Asmodee. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, you have to book a slot for collection in advance. This will be possible from 8 a.m. on September 10th.
Several slots are available on the trade fair days:
- 10 to 13 clock (GMT)
- 13 to 16 clock (GMT)
- 16 p.m. to 19 p.m. (except on Sundays: 16 p.m. to 18 p.m.)
Now you could criticize the effort as unnecessary, but there are two ideas behind it: Firstly, it allows as many fans as possible to get the tickets, and secondly, it reduces waiting times. After reserving a pickup slot, you are guaranteed to receive the "2024 Convention Exclusive Pack" with six tickets from Star Wars: Unlimited.
The only downside for fans here is that the cards are only available in the original English version. According to Asmodee, there is no localization of the promo pack.

You can queue up at any time during the booked period, so you don't have to wait from the beginning. This should make your visit to the fair much more relaxed, provided you have planned to buy the promo cards for Star Wars: Unlimited at SPIEL'24. However, it is important: According to Asmodee, the booked ticket loses its validity if you do not pick up the tickets in the booked slot.

The promo package was already available at Pax West, where Asmodee also used a ticket-based booking system to make the process easier. The demand will probably be high, because Star Wars: Unlimited is still being talked about, even with the recently launched second wave of cards.
The year number is also interesting as a “serial number”. Due to the multi-year plans for Star Wars: Unlimited It can be assumed that there will be similar offers at conventions in the following years.
