Star Wars fans should sit up and take notice: A rumor about a new video game is making the rounds. Not much is known, but the pilot Iden Versio from Star Wars: Battlefront 2 could appear. In addition, the game should play at the time of the Disney series The Mandalorian. The discussion about a possible new title was triggered on Twitter: There the actress, who embodies the character Iden Versio, made appropriate hints that can be interpreted in this way.
That more Star Wars video games at Electronic Arts appear is not news. The publisher had long since made it clear that the powerful license would be worked on more intensively in the future. The successes of Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Star Wars: Squadrons and Battlefront 2 did their part. The latter title in particular has recently become the focus of rumors.
Is Star Wars: Battlefront 3 coming?
Actress Janina Gavankar had spread the rumors via Twitter through published hints. She responded to a fan's question and gave a hint about something related to her embodied character Iden Versio. Gavankar also mentioned that it has to do with the current TV series The Mandalorian. It is now known that Electronic Arts is selling to several Star Wars-video games works. What exactly this is is unknown - and that is precisely why everything is conceivable. Iden Versio could appear in a story expansion for Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and the game could be expanded to include content from The Mandalorian. Given the resurgence of the shooter, which initially had an unfortunate launch, this would hardly be surprising.
A real successor would also be possible, a Star Wars: Battlefront 3. A character extraction with Iden Versio in a completely new Star Wars video game could also be implemented.
Almost three and a half years after its original release, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is gaining more prominence than ever before. Although the support for the game ended almost a year ago, this decision could also be revised by Electronic Arts.
As revealed by a ResetEra user, Janina Gavankar seems to be suggesting a new game. In that tweet, she also tagged Mitch Dyer and Walt Williams, both of whom had worked as writers on Battlefront 2.

And there's more: in the meantime, both Gavankar and TJ Ramini - he played Del Meeko in Battlefront 2 - posted images of motion capture equipment on Twitter, which could indicate that the relevant exceptions to a game could also be running.
Taken together, all Twitter posts are no more than clues, but everything indicates that there will be a reunion with the Inferno Squad at the time of The Mandalorian. It is uncertain whether the focus will be on the pilot squadron or Disney's popular series brand. It is entirely possible that The Mandalorian brand will be used as a draft horse.
