A remake or even a successor to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is coming? Such rumors make fans yawn tired now. Again and again - more or less realistic - references to a potential new edition or revision of what is perhaps the best Star Wars role-playing game come up.
Now Cinelinx reports* about a corresponding rumor and refers to two independent sources. One says that a remake for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic could be in the works again - another source speaks a less clear language: it is of some kind of sequel.
It should at least be more than a remake, more of a re-imaging that includes both previously published titles (KotOR 1 and KotOR 2) in order to combine them into a single, coherent work. Changes due to the current Star Wars canon should then also be incorporated.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is on again
The confusion about the Star Wars-Canon continues anyway and is difficult for newcomers to keep track of. Darth Revan recently found his way back into the official canon. Other details about the Old Republic era also found a place in the canon.
There would be enough reasons to create an atmospheric work from the great Star Wars role-playing games that does justice to the current canon. Whether and how completely new content makes its way into a remake Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic could find it, however, is uncertain.
The rumors persist: But such indications are no longer completely unrealistic. There were already hints of a film last year Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and also Publisher Electronic Arts would like to work on the Star Wars license a little more intensively.
