Star Wars Jedi: Survivor could be released as early as spring 2023, at least that's what a new spin on the action-adventure game says. Fans would then not have to wait particularly long and they might be able to pass the time at the start of the year twice or three times with stories from the Fallen Order world, because two books will also be published – Lucasfilm had confirmed the latter publication dates in any case.
With Star Wars Jedi: Fallen folder Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts a awesome solo adventure game delivered. The expectations of the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are correspondingly high. The title has been in development for a long time, apparently already at an advanced stage, which could at least be concluded from a rumor about a possible release date for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which Giant Bombs Jeff Grubb has spread: Accordingly, the successor appears already in March 2023 and thus in just over half a year.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Game and Books
During the release date of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has not yet been officially called, there is for two books already have the data: Sam Magg's story "Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars", which falls between the two video game titles Star Wars Jedi: Fallen folder and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on March 7, 2023. The focus is of course on the adventures of Cal Kestis and the Mantis crew. A behind-the-scenes book on the development of the sequel, titled The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor by Dark Hors, will be released on May 2, 2023.
Jeff Grubb is now assuming the successor game will be released in March, similar information had been filtered from the PSN database, and Grubb himself had already brought a release in February or March into play. There is no official confirmation for the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the naming of the book dates at least indicate that Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment may have already agreed on a date internally.
It is also unlikely that a behind the scenes book with possible spoilers will be released before the video game is released. Even if the release should not take place in March, it can be assumed that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released at least until May 2, 2023. All that is known from official sources so far is that the title will be released next year - this information was published in parallel with a trailer as part of the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will spin the story of Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis further. The game will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X / S and PC. It is therefore already clear that the game will no longer be a cross-gen title. For the developers at Respawn Entertainment, this means in particular that the technical resources of the new hardware can be used without restrictions – and apparently will, as game director Stig Asmussen indicated when the trailer was released. However, not much is known, but at least they want to offer “more dynamic fights” and, above all, keep the loading times short. What Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be about is completely unknown. The mysterious trailer doesn't reveal much, but it's worth seeing.
