Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be released on November 15th and the developers are right on schedule. As Respawn Entertainment reports, the new Star Wars video game has reached "Gold Status", so it can start on time in mid-November. Meanwhile, more details about the title are leaking out and gameplay videos show action-packed battles, including against an AT-ST.

Players join Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order in the boots of young Jedi Cal Kestis. The video game is intended to show not only how well Jedi can fight and use the Force, but also how

Jedi Fallen Order shows Star Wars how it should be

Respawn Entertainment, the development studio behind Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, announced via the short message platform Twitter that the title has reached gold status. This should ensure that the game will be playable from November 15th without any delays. How proud the developers are of their work is also shown by the team photo with which they celebrate reaching gold status. The digital creation thus finds its way into the press shop in good time. Nevertheless, it can be assumed that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be updated on the day of release by means of a Day One patch - including some bug fixes.

What has been seen so far from Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order in terms of gameplay is promising. The rather open style of play also seems to be beneficial for a video game in the Star Wars universe - even if players apparently have to cover long distances. After all: The fights are action-packed, but not pure brawling gameplay. Overall is oriented Star Wars: Fallen Order on titles like Dark Souls, but also Tomb Raider. The game combines platforming action with exploration, also includes role-playing elements and allows for character customization. This puts Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order in the “Metroidvania” category, a genre mix that is characterized by games from the Metroid series and Castlevania.

The visuals of the worlds are sometimes impressive. Forests and cave systems have rarely been so beautiful, but above all atmospheric, in a Star Wars game. Because players will spend a significant part of the exploration of the game worlds, the surroundings should be inviting - and offer interesting details even away from the main paths.

In a preview, IGN shows, among other things, why Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order probably has a lot more to offer than fans have expected from the game so far:

What will definitely not be there is a fast travel system. A good decision, if the size of the game environment allows it, because such systems often limit action role-playing games to playing through hot spots - everything else is then ignored.

Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will likely do it differently. According to the developers, there should be enough incentives to scour areas several times. The decision against implementing a fast travel system was therefore made consciously.

The game's graphic quality comes from Valve's source engine (in a modified version), which Respawn Entertainment has used in other titles in the past, including Titanfall and more recently Apex Legends. On consoles, i.e. the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, players will be able to choose from a quality mode or a mode that puts performance in the foreground. In quality mode, Jedi will fall according to order information from producer Paul Hatfield then with a higher resolution (it remains uncertain which one is meant), but can only play with 30 FPS. In performance mode, on the other hand, the title runs at 60 FPS, but with a lower resolution. There will likely still be slight FPS fluctuations.

Due to the higher computing power, owners of a Playstation 4 Pro or Xbox One Nevertheless, it seems Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be a prime example of the graphical possibilities that can still be achieved from the now “old consoles”.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be released on November 15th for PC via Origin, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
