The small publisher Board Game Circus is presenting several new board games for the SPIEL'24 in Essen. However, they will not have a stand at the fair. Instead, they will be walking around the halls and have set up a place to buy them. So fans don't have to miss out on the new releases themselves.
"We are particularly excited about the fair this year because we will be doing everything differently," announces Board Game Circus: We will not have a stand in the traditional sense this year. However, fans will still be able to meet the publishers' representatives at the fair - and Board Game Circus games, including new releases, will also be available to buy.
Why the new concept? "We thought we would do everything differently this year and experience SPIEL from the perspective of the players again," wrote Johannes Brandt when asked. It was nice to present our own games to game enthusiasts at the stand and to exchange ideas, but "we wanted to explore the exhibition halls ourselves again this year and, above all, play more."
Time and financial investments also played a role in the decision. "For a publisher, a trade fair means not only the stand fees, but also costs for the team, accommodation, delivery and possible supporters," explains Brandt. Since Kintsugi is the only new product from Board Games Circus to appear at SPIEL, they thought that "this year is the perfect opportunity to try out a different concept."
New concept for the trade fair
Board Game Circus will not be without a presence at all: the new releases will first be shown to trade visitors as part of the press review. The focus will be on Endeavor: The Deep Sea, Lost Lights, Hermit and Kintsugi in particular. The publisher will also be present at the "Meet & Play" on the Saturday of the trade fair from 14.30:XNUMX p.m.
If you keep your eyes open, you can also see the Board Game Circus employees strolling through the halls. "We're looking forward to talking to you and, instead of giving you a lecture, finding out a little more about you and your channels," the actors invite you.
The new Board Game Circus products will be available to buy at SPIEL'24 in Hall 5 at Stand 5D311 - according to the publisher, sales will take place there as usual. Board Game Cicus will share the space with Hot Games, Gam'inBIZ and H-Town Games. Kintsugi, Hermit, Herbsthain, Tüftelmonster and Shake That City, as well as the re-released Obsthain and Lost Lights will be available there, along with the free Kurak promo card.
The new family game Kintsugi will be available for purchase for the first time. Kintsugi is an accessible and tactical set collection game for two to four people aged ten and over with an unusual theme and beautiful illustrations. Fans of Sushi Go will be interested in it, among others. Kintsugi will be available in stores from October 15th. The game can already be pre-ordered at the board game kiosk, and will be shipped from October 14th.
autumn grove is a new solo puzzle after Obsthain and Zitrushain, the third entry in the trilogy. Herbsthain slightly varies the well-known concept of its predecessors and, with the recipe competition, offers plenty of replay value. The third part of the small solo series has been delivered to the supporters and is available in our shop, in local specialist retailers or online. Herbsthain can currently be ordered from us in a bundle with Obsthain and Zitrushain.
Anyone who wonders that Endeavor: The Deep Sea is not in the list, rest assured: this new product will be available at the Frosted Games stand in Hall 3 at Stand 3B200. The successor to Endeavor: Sailing Ship Era takes you into the depths of the ocean this time. With up to four people you can play different scenarios in Endeavor: The Deep Sea competitively, cooperatively or solo. The retail version of Endeavor: The Deep Sea is available exclusively from specialist retailers. There will also be a deluxe upgrade for the board game at the trade fair.
Those who prefer sales promotions can also stop by stand 3N412 (also in Hall 3 of the Essen trade fair): There is a "bargain initiative" from Board Game Box, Frosted Games, Skellig Games, Spiel Das-Verlag and Strohmann Games. Board Game Circus explains the idea: "Anyone who takes advantage of this offer will receive a voucher that can be redeemed at the stand of all participating publishers (multiple times). For purchases of 20 euros or more, there is a two-euro voucher and for purchases of 50 euros or more, there is a five-euro voucher.
