British indie publisher Rebellion has released a new trailer for Sniper Elite 5, the next installment in the popular shooter series. In it, the weapons from the Second World War, which were authentically remodeled in the game, are presented in detail. It was also revealed that Sniper Elite 5 will feature an improved weapon modification and attachment system, allowing players to further customize the gameplay to suit their needs.

The right time for war games? Where hardly. However, this was also registered at Rebellion and at least as a preventive measure they made a statement: “The thoughts of Rebellion are with everyone who is affected by the current situation in Ukraine. We support the DEC-Ukraine Red Cross appeal to provide humanitarian assistance.” Anyone wishing to help the Red Cross can do so at the following address:

New "Marksman" trailer online

Rebellion, one of the most successful independent studios in the world, today released a new trailer for Sniper Elite 5. It introduces the authentic WWII weapons found in the latest installment in the popular shooter series.

Sniper Elite 5 offers an extensive weapon arsenal with the largest number of customization options and attachments in the history of the series. Snipers can choose from over 200 options including scopes, silencers, stocks, muzzle brakes, materials and more, allowing them to customize their loadout to suit their playstyle and mission objectives.

Weapon attachments and customization options are unlocked primarily through discovering workbenches throughout each level. As various elements are added, removed, or adjusted, these changes are reflected in four key weapon stats: Power, Rate of Fire, Control, and Mobility. A stealthy player might choose power and rate of fire at the expense of control and mobility due to their methodical approach, while the opposite is true for a player who prefers the more "run and gun" style.

"Sniper Elite has always excelled in authentic gunplay, and we wanted to take it to the next level in Sniper Elite 5," said Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion. "We've focused on improving the quirk and feel of our weapons, including introducing an 'Ironsights' perspective to pistols and sub-weapons like SMGs."

“Thousands of playtests throughout the series have clearly shown that everyone approaches the game in their own unique way. That's why we created the new Weapon Customization system, which allows players to customize their weapons to suit their playstyle. This is how we ensure that everyone can really enjoy the experience.”

Sniper Elite 5 will be released simultaneously on May 26th, 2022 on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5 as well as PC via Epic Games Store, Steam and Windows Store. Assuming once again the role of elite sniper Karl Fairburne, players travel to France in 1944 to thwart a secret Nazi plot known as Operation Krake.

The game features an extensive campaign that can be played in 2-player online co-op. The locations featured in it have been meticulously recreated using photogrammetry to ensure an authentic and immersive experience. New routes and locomotion options open up these areas in ways never seen before, giving players even more ways to find the perfect vantage point for the kill.

In the new Invasion mode, players can invade someone else's campaign online and take on the role of an Axis sniper. Valuable rewards await. This adds a new dimension to the game and makes encounters with enemies even more diverse. In addition, 16 participants can compete in a variety of game modes in multiplayer mode.

Sniper Elite 5 will be released simultaneously on May 26, 2022 on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as PC via the Epic Games Store, Steam, and Windows Store.
