Sky Q Mini provides a perfect extension for the maximum Sky Q experience. No additional satellite or cable connection will be necessary and means maximum freedom, as you can enjoy your Sky broadcasts anywhere. This includes all programs from Sky Q and Sky Go.

The Sky Q Mini Box will be available from June

Sky Q has been around in Germany and Austria for a year. From now on, the 1,5 million Sky Q customers can look forward to being able to use their favorite program at home on more devices and at the same time. This is particularly interesting for households with more residents, such as families. So the new blockbuster, the favorite series and the best live sport can be watched at the same time. The Sky Q Mini makes this possible. No additional satellite or cable connection will be necessary. You have maximum freedom because you can enjoy your favorite shows anywhere.

“Since the successful launch a year ago, we have developed and improved Sky Q step by step. With the new Sky Q Mini Box, we are now offering customers maximum freedom. Whether in the bedroom, study, children's room or home cinema: Sky Q is available in every other room where customers want it, directly via the Internet and without any additional satellite or cable connection.

Julia Laukemann, Senior Vice President Product Management at Sky Germany

The Sky Q Mini is an Android IP box. It includes the tried and tested Sky Q user interface as well as many functions that customers are already familiar with from their Sky Q receiver. Are available:

  • Linear sky transmitter
  • Public service program and partner broadcaster
  • Films and series on demand
  • Apps, e.g. B. ARD and ZDF media libraries (Netflix and Spotify will be added later)
  • Features like restart, continue, series autoplay, kids mode and voice control

The box is connected to the television via HDMI. She receives the content either via LAN cable or simply via WLAN. A connection via satellite or cable is not necessary, so there is no antenna connection. There is an optical output for connection to a sound system. The scope of delivery for the Sky Q Mini Box includes a Sky Q voice remote control including batteries, an HDMI cable and a power cord.

Customers with an existing Sky Q contract can rent the box directly from sky.de for a one-off price of 49 euros plus shipping costs. All devices are registered centrally in a device list. A maximum of four devices can be registered at the same time and Sky Q, Sky Go or the Sky Kids app can be used on three devices at the same time. One device can be exchanged per month. In addition, customers can watch their content on up to two Sky Q receivers at the same time.

In addition, the Sky Q app is made available free of charge on other platforms. From summer, LG Smart TVs will be able to be enjoyed, as will the Playstation 4. So far, the Sky Q app is available on the Apple TV Box from the 4th generation and on Samsung Smart TVs (from 2015).
