Private Division and Roll7 today announced that Rollerdrome, an all-new third-person shooter skater bursting with ideas bursting with ideas, is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam). This new title comes from Roll7, the makers of OlliOlli World, one of the top rated games this year.
Dystopian soundtrack at Rollerdrome
Rollerdrome is an intense single player shooter that combines arena combat, fluid movement and technical tricks to create "flowing chaos". The game transports players to the year 2030, in a world where the public is distracted from an ever-eclipsing political movement by the violence and excess of a brutal new arena sport: Rollerdrome. Participants must complete a series of gauntlet runs against deadly house players, taking them out with elegant tricks and completing numerous challenges in their fight for survival.
Players take on the role of Kara Hassan, a newcomer to the Rollerdrome tournament. As the behind-the-scenes machinations of a corrupt tech giant become ever more apparent, players with Kara must focus on their goal - climbing the leaderboards and en route to the Rollerdrome title.
Rollerdrome presents a unique retro-futuristic game world in a distinctive comic style. The Electric Dragon soundtrack combines legendary 70s sounds with contemporary driving beats and underscores the crashing gameplay with a musical heartbeat.
“Rollerdrome pays homage to extreme action sports games from the perspective of a classic third-person shooter set in the 7s. The game is incredibly fast-paced and will get its fans' pulses racing,” said Paul Rabbitte, Creative Director of RollXNUMX. "I can't wait for players to show off their craziest skate and fight combos."
"Roll7 once again presents a bold and intense gaming experience that leaves a refreshing impression," added Michael Worosz, Chief Strategy Officer, Take-Two Interactive and Head of Private Division. "We admire Roll7 very much because they always want to break new ground and Rollerdrome is proof that their attempts lead to extraordinary results."
Rollerdrome is being developed by Roll7, the multi-award-winning, BAFTA-winning London studio known for popular and notable titles such as OlliOlli, OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood, OlliOlli World, Laser League and NOT A HERO.
Rollerdrome is available as a digital download for PlayStation 29,99, PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam for €5. The game is available to purchase on Steam for the introductory price of €19,79 and for the PlayStation system on PlayStation Plus for members of all tiers. Starting today, a free Game Trial is also available to PlayStation Plus Premium members.
Rollerdrome has received the USK rating "Approved for over 16 years".
