The peripheral manufacturer Roccat, now part of Turtle Beach, has launched a new range of gaming headsets under the name Elo. Gamers can now buy the new headphones from participating retailers. The prices vary, depending on the model, between around 50 and around 100 euros. The top model is the Elo 7.1 Air Wireless Surround Sound RGB headset, which combines all of the features mentioned in the name.

According to the manufacturer Roccat, the Elo headsets should offer PC gamers “the perfect mix of award-winning German
design and innovation with Turtle Beach's unmatched audio expertise and exclusive technologies. Roccat has now launched three different models, each in its own price range.

Gaming headset: prefer stereo or surround?

There are three different Elo headsets to choose from for gaming fans: the Elo X Stereo for around 50 euros, the Elo 7.1 USB surround sound headset for around 70 euros and the wireless Elo 7.1 Air surround sound headset with one RRP of 99.99 euros. The latter headset is the high-priced model in the new gaming headset series.

All three models share essential features, including memory foam pads with Turtle Beach ProSpecs technology designed specifically for eyeglass wearers. There are also metal headbands with a self-adjusting headband, powerful 50mm drivers and the highly sensitive Turtle Beach TruSpeak microphone. The Elo 7.1 USB and Elo 7.1 Air also feature 7.1-channel surround sound, variable mic monitoring, and Roccat's Aimo lighting. The Elo 7.1 Air also has Turtle Beach's Superhuman Hearing Sound setting, which the manufacturer claims should provide a "significant advantage in the game".

That shouldn't have been the case with the new products from Roccat. “We have announced many exciting new additions to Roccat and are pleased that the Elos are the first new products to hit the stores. And we have much more to come, including Pro versions of our award-winning Vulcan keyboards and newly introduced Burst mice with our Titan Optical Switch Technology that is faster than almost anything else on the market,” says René Korte from the executive suite.

Roccat Elo: three models, three price ranges

The Elo X Stereo is aimed at stereo enthusiasts and multiplatform gamers. According to Roccat, the most affordable of the three models offers "superb sound, produced by precisely tuned 50mm drivers". His
Extended cross-platform compatibility via 3,5 mm jack supplements convenience functions such as memory foam padding and a self-adjusting headband with a light metal bracket. The Elo X Stereo comes with a PC audio splitter. The manufacturer's recommended retail price is 49.99 euros.

According to the manufacturer, the Elo 7.1 USB RGB offers "immersive 7.1-channel surround sound with precisely tuned 50mm drivers". The headset also features Turtle Beach audio innovations such as the highly sensitive, high-performance TruSpeak microphone for crystal-clear communication, variable mic monitoring to avoid shouting, and glasses-friendly ProSpecs ear cushions.

The medium-priced version also offers comfort features, such as memory foam padding and the light metal headband with a self-regulating headband. There is also the AIMO lighting system for lively color adjustments. The Elo 7.1 USB RGB will be available at an RRP of 69,99 euros.

In the luxury class, gamers can do without cables. The Elo 7.1 Air is the top model of the series. Again, according to Roccat, there is "immersive 7.1-channel surround sound with powerful 50-
mm drivers", also with Turtle Beach's Superhuman Hearing sound setting, an option that should benefit fans directly in the game: sounds that you would otherwise hardly hear should be amplified and thus offer an advantage in the game.

The Elo 7.1 Air uses Roccat's Stellar Wireless technology to provide the most reliable wireless connection possible, which Roccat says is "as good as a wired connection and sometimes even faster". The battery life is important for a wireless model and, according to the manufacturer, is an average of 24 hours.

The Elo 7.1 Air also belongs to the AIMO product family and is available for a recommended price of 99,99 euros
