Return to Monkey Island coming to Nintendo Switch and PC in September

Terrible Toybox, Devolver Digital and Lucasfilm Games have announced that Return to Monkey Island, the next installment in Guybrush Threepwood's epic and mysterious pirate saga, will be available on September 19th for PC and Nintendo Switch.

During the Gamescom Opening Night Live event, it was revealed that fans can pre-order the new Return to Monkey Island now and begin their adventure with exclusive horse armor in their inventory. The game had already made waves twice: on the one hand because of the return of the title, on the other hand because of the chosen graphic style - the optics were not well received, especially by long-time fans of the series.

The story of Guybrush Threepwood

The tangled story of Monkey Island's most famous mystery leads Guybrush Threepwood - intrepid hero, leather jacket salesman and powerful pirate - on a new adventure in the Caribbean - determined to solve the elusive mystery once and for all.

But the voyage back to Mêlée Island wouldn't be complete without old friends (and foes) - but while Guybrush and the evil LeChuck will clash once again on the high seas, a new crew of pirate leaders seems desperate to spoil the party.

Guybrush's usual hilarious adventures in Return to Monkey Island are penned by series creators Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman in this sequel. Brought to life with stunning new visuals from Rex Crowle (Knights & Bikes, Tearaway) and featuring some of the original Monkey Island voice acting, Return to Monkey Island features all-new, intuitive controls, accessible features, and even a few twisted jokes .
