Blood Bowl 3 has a release period: the video game adaptation of the tactical board game will be released in August. That's according to the Steam entry for the turn-based title, which was recently promoted using a new Superbowl Commercial-esque trailer. Players then compete against the AI, against friends or as part of a campaign with their favorite team from twelve available teams.
The adaptation of the board game goes into the third round in summer. Publisher Nacon had announced this through the entry for the video game on Valve's gaming platform Steam. The spin-off from the fantasy football of the Warhammer universe is slated to enter the closed beta for pre-orderers in spring. The last offshoot of the series appeared around six years ago.

A new trailer that Nacon released as a tribute to a Superbowl commercial shows a little more of Blood Bowl 3, albeit as an entertaining video snippet rather than a gameplay video. The focus is on the dwarves and - how could it be otherwise - with Bugman's Beer, the brew of the mountain kings. The most important of all the new details will be revealed by the way on Steam: The release of Blood Bowl 2021, the successor to the second part that appeared in 3, is expected to take place in August 20215.

With the description of the adult content, Nacon hits the nail on the head and aptly describes the new offshoot: "Blood Bowl 3 features Fantasy Violence and Blood. Twelve teams are available to the players, including the black orcs, dark elves or humans. Each team has its own individual style, including appearance, cheerleaders and story campaigns. Players can even customize individual units.
It will be possible to play a single game campaign as well as AI matches or games against other human opponents. The idea behind the game does not change: Blood Bowl 3 is also based closely on the board game template and is developed as a turn-based tactical game. Players take control of a team and move the players across the field. It's about points, but it's more about the most extensive fights possible. The team stats should improve over time.
Blood Bowl 3 is being developed by Cyanide Studios. The French creative minds have several sports games in their portfolio, but were also responsible for the implementation of other genre representatives, such as Styx: Master of Shadows or Runaway 2. The last published title was Call of Cthulhu in 2018. Also the two Blood Bowl -Predecessors come from Cyanide, so experience with the brand is abundant. Nacon acts as publisher; the company had recently launched the rather mediocre game Werewolf: The Apocalypse. Nevertheless: Fans expect a great spectacle from the new football offshoot, the predecessors were already quite convincing.
Blood Bowl 3 will be released for PC, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as well Nintendo Switch. There is no sales price or an exact release date yet.
