Fans are waiting for new information about GTA 6. Although there was no new information during Take-Two's earnings call, the publisher's CEO did at least make positive comments about the game's release date in an interview.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick told CNBC that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released as planned and without delays: fall 2025 is still the official release window, which has now been confirmed at the highest level. Although there may still be delays in development, Zelnick said he considers it "extremely likely" that the set release period can be met.
Most likely is not 100 percent
The statements should at least calm fans down a little. In view of the ever-increasing rumors about an alleged delay and the lack of news about GTA 6, quite a few fans of the open-world game series thought it was very likely that the successor to Grand Theft Auto 5 could be released significantly late. This is apparently not the case.
From Strauss Zelnick's brief statements, it can be seen that development is currently on track. GTA 6 could therefore actually be released for Playstation and Xbox during the best gaming season next year. The PC version is also considered likely: Zelnick stated that Rockstar Games will make further announcements "in due course". The CO himself had already spoken about the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 a few months ago.
However, fans should not be too sure about the release of GTA 6 and should at least accept a possible delay. Rockstar Games is a studio that postpones its games, often by several months. This was the case with GTA 5 as well as Red Dead Redemption 2. But once a game has been released, the developers nurture and care for their work - this should compensate many a waiting fan for the test of patience.
