The world of Red Dead Online, the open multiplayer mode of Red Dead Redempion 2, will soon be expanded to include a new, major update. This includes, among other things, specialized roles that players can slip into at will - including numerous unlockable improvements. Rock Star Games has also announced the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club for Red Dead Online players and a suitable additional offer for this club, the Outlaw Pass. Frontier Pursuits for Red Dead Online is out on September 10th.
New update to Red Dead Online brings new roles
The biggest change is that the world of Red Dead Online will continue to evolve when the new Frontier Pursuits update is released. Tied to this system are new specialized roles that players can assume - either one, some, or all of them. Bounty hunters, traders and collectors are available. Each special role demands different approaches from players, but also brings different skills with them.
While bounty hunters have to track down and catch - or kill - targets, collectors explore the game world for valuable finds. Traders, on the other hand, help Cripps and turn the warehouse into a real trading post. A slaughter table is necessary for existence as a dealer, which players have to buy for 15 gold bars - if you play Red Dead Redemption 2 on Playstation 4, you even get the table free of charge.
As the course progresses within the roles, players can unlock rewards, such as a reinforced lasso or more effective tracking. As a collector, metal detectors will later be available, with which valuable metal objects can be detected even better. Whether and which roles fans take on in the Wild West is up to them to decide.
Rockstar Games is also working on detailed improvements for the big update, for example in the area of the controls, which currently don't feel as direct as they should. Damage reduction for defensive players is also on the developer's agenda.
As the world evolves, the Red Dead Online also stores information about the preferred playstyle of the players: Red Dead Redemption 2 notices whether you prefer to act offensively or defensively. Also useful: With the release of Frontier Pursuits, players should be able to reset their character's appearance.
The Club "Wheeler, Rawson & Co." including Outlaw Pass
As if all of the new content for the Red Dead Online update wasn't enough, Rockstar Games is bringing another way to earn rewards with the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Club. By gaining experience - including the new role XP - fans can acquire new rewards, including new items of clothing, cash bonuses, free tonic or special weapon protection.
Anything you unlock between September 10th and November 18th will continue to be available after membership ends.
