In a new trailer, News Tower, the 1930s tycoon management sim from publisher Twin Sails Interactive and developer Studio Nul Games, presents a series of editorial challenges players will face when managing their newspaper.
Studio Nul Games team is currently adding new content and features to the game. Later this year it will be released in Steam Early Access. A playthrough video shows the progress of the game and some of the features players can expect at the Early Access launch.
Media boom: New York in the 1930s
As the founder of a newspaper in 1930s New York, players attempt to create a media empire: they recruit and manage every job necessary to succeed. These include reporters, photographers, janitors and the important advertising salesman. Players search for exciting news from around the world and adapt the editorial line to the interests of the readers. They build and upgrade their tower to ensure the well-being of employees and attract new readers. At the same time, print deadlines must be met and editorial quality must be ensured.
Players choose themes from around the world and follow different leads to develop a story - from the disappearance of a cat to corruption. The decisions will have consequences. Each week a newspaper is assembled from the articles fans have produced. Hard journalism, sensational rumors and revenue-generating advertising - it is up to the players what is printed.
Fans will need to improve their tower and production processes without compromising the well-being of employees. The layout of the tables and machines must not be neglected.
"Take over New York by expanding into famous locations, unlocking new upgrades and readers of your own interest," says Twin Sails Interactive. This includes Wall Street, Central Park and more.
News Tower is slated for Early Access later this year.
