After Amazon has already issued warnings to pre-orderers of the PlayStation 5, other retailers are now turning to their customers. And these are threatened with a particularly long waiting period.

As Videogameschronicle now reports, GameStop Ireland has contacted pre-orderers of the PlayStation 5 in an email. It states that they should not expect a delivery before 2021.

PS5: Other online shops provide information about long waiting times

The reasons for this would not be in the GameStop control. Pre-orders can now wait for pre-orders or cancel orders. Sony is said to have started shortly beforehand to inform English retailers that a sufficient supply of consoles for the publication was not guaranteed.

It remains to be seen what will happen to PS5 pre-orders from German retailers. Sony recently announced the price and release date of the PlayStation 5 but forgot to mention that the first consoles can already be pre-built. The news spread like a fire and so the PS5 was sold out within a few hours on sites like Amazon, Saturn, Media Markt, Otto and Co.

As things stand, Amazon is now struggling with the high demand. The company is therefore sending emails to customers informing them that they will not be able to receive a PlayStation 19 in time for November 2020, 5.

It is not clear whether this will affect us here. However, in some countries, Amazon is not sure that they can deliver the product on time.

"We are getting in touch with you regarding your PlayStation 5 order to let you know in advance that due to popular demand, you may not receive this item on the day of its publication," said the published email from The Verge.

The PlayStation 5 will be released on November 19th.
