Adventures in the Paldea region

A detailed new gameplay trailer for Pokémon Crimson and Pokémon Crimson was released as part of Wednesday afternoon's Pokémon Direct. This reveals some important details about mechanics and the legendary cover Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon. These the player can ride through the world and they change their form depending on which terrain (water, air or ground) they have to cross.

Probably the biggest innovation is in the form of the so-called teracrystallization, an enigmatic phenomenon unique to Paldea. This turns Pokémon into radiant crystals and is strongly reminiscent of the mega development or the Gigantamax form from the predecessors Sword and Shield. The process of crystallization can only be activated once per battle. Corresponding Pokémon then have the Tera type, which strengthens the attacks and influences the original type.

The player experiences his adventures in the Paldea region either alone or with up to three other comrades-in-arms. The open game world can be explored together or fought together in Tera Raids. For the first time, the story is not structured in a purely linear manner, but is divided into three fixed plot strands. Furthermore, the eight arena leaders in the region be challenged in any order. As always, the overriding goal is to fill the Pokédex and achieve master rank.

In addition, other Pokémon were introduced. For one thing Land Whale Pokémon Kolowal, which in the snow regions of Paldea occurs and on the other hand the dog-like Pokémon Hefel.
