The connoisseur game AI Space Puzzle from Portal Games and the family game Skyrockets – Festival of Colors ains as new releases at Pegasus Spiele available. In the two cooperative games, good communication between the players is important as they take on the roles of astronauts, artificial intelligence and fireworks artists.
Due to a malfunction of the reactor, the spaceship in AI Space Puzzle is in danger of exploding! The two to five players aged ten and over must now work together to manually restart the system. An artificial intelligence that is also damaged helps the right astronauts use the right keys in the right rooms to save the ship.
To do this, one person, acting as AI, tries to convey the required combination of figures, keys, rooms and colors to the others. In each round, they can arrange a certain number of communication tiles behind their screen as they wish and then show them.
The astronauts can now carry out various actions on the ship in front of them, which consists of 16 space cards, such as bringing figures into play or removing them, moving figures or turning a die to any side. The game ends after about twenty to thirty minutes with the last round or when the astronauts want to disband. Now it is checked whether the game was won or lost.
The connoisseur game by Katarzyna Cioch, Mateusz Wolski, Sylwia Smolinska and Wojciech Wisniewski offers a high level of replayability thanks to 40 scenarios with increasing levels of difficulty, 104 different solutions and 16 rooms in random combinations. The scenario book specifies how many rounds and which communication tiles are available for the AI and contains new special rules depending on the scenario, e.g. for dice.
Festival of Fireworks
While the players in AI Space Puzzle want to prevent the catastrophic explosion, in the family game Skyrockets - Festival of Colors their goal is to ignite a whole series of colorful rockets to create spectacular fireworks! In the real-time game by Charlie McCarron, two to five players aged eight and over try together to ignite the right rockets at the right moment.
Different colored hourglasses, each running for a different length of time, represent the fireworks. The event cards specify how many fireworks cards each person gets and how the hourglasses are set up. At the start of the game, the hourglasses are turned over and the timer starts! Each player takes turns to play a card with two colors on it and turn over the matching hourglasses. The hourglass on the countdown bar (the "main color") moves one space as soon as its time runs out. The goal is for it to reach the end of the countdown without the other hourglasses (the "secondary colors") running out. These duds scare away the audience and lead to the group's defeat.
After the introductory event, the events are grouped into festival groups, each with its own special rules. Skyrockets - Festival of Colors is a quick game to play in ten to fifteen minutes per round and offers many challenges thanks to the 30 different events, a professional version and a secret "encore" envelope.
Both games are now available at a recommended retail price of 24,99 euros each.
