Payday 3 got its teaser trailer. Shortly before the end of 2022, Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios released a small video for the announced first-person shooter.
The game will play after Payday 2 ends. There the gangsters went their separate ways and supposedly left their criminal lives behind. This was obviously not of long duration and particularly sustainable, because with Payday 3 it is now seamlessly continued.
Payday 3 is scheduled for release in 2023
Exactly what motivates the Payday gang to turn criminal again is unclear. Fans have to be patient here: Payday 3 has been announced for the current year 2023. It remains to be seen when exactly the game will appear. The original crew from Payday: The Heist (Dallas, Chains, Wolf, and Hoxton) will return in Payday 3.
Venue is mainly held in New York. The first mission takes place at the bank "Gold and Sharke Incorporated". Payday 3 is set in the 2020s with all the modern twists of the financial world. It is therefore about advanced surveillance technology on the one hand and the rise of cryptocurrencies on the other. The setting, which is based on the real world, should provide a good portion of game depth.
Payday 3 has been in development since 2016. The game will use Unreal Engine 4. It is already clear that a games-as-a-service model will be used. Even after the release, there will always be new content.
