New content for Patch of Exile is on the way. Meanwhile, Grinding Gear Games has also revealed the name of the next expansion: Sentinel. It will be released in two phases in mid-May for PC and consoles – there will also be a reveal event on May 5th, during which the developers want to present further details.
Patch of Exile was released in 2013 and is now heading for its tenth year: the developers at Grinding Gear Games obviously haven't gotten tired. In May, the next phase of the action role-playing adventure will be heralded with Patch of Exile: Sentinel.
Patch of Exile: Sentinel and Challenge League
Grinding Gear Games has announced the next expansion for Path of Exile, titled Sentinel and featuring a Challenge League. A short trailer video with screenshots of the new content accompanies the announcement. At the core of the new league are independent companions that support the player in battle.
The developers initially briefly hinted at the expansion, and a full reveal of Sentinel will be made available on May 5th. Then Grinding Gear Games wants to go into more detail about the content and also reveal what the new expansion for Path of Exile will bring.
Path of Exile: Sentinel is scheduled for release on May 13th for PC and about a week later, on May 18th for consoles. The last major expansion with a major update of the free-to-play action role-playing game came in February with Siege of the Atlas and the Nemesis League. Grinding Gear Games had completely reworked the Atlas of Worlds endgame, making it more linear and at the same time more progressive. Also included were several new bosses such as the Eater of Worlds and the Searing Exarch.
The reveal event will be followed by a live Q&A with ZiggyD and founder Chris Wilson. Both can be viewed on the official Path of Exile Twitch channel.
