Swiss indie developer Shirakumo Games announces that its open world action RPG Kandria will be released on January 11th, 2023 on Steam. The game's official soundtrack will also be released at the same time.

As an android waking up in a shattered future, players will enjoy the freedom to explore a huge open world with a total area of more than 2,5 million square meters without any restrictions from the very first second. But the world also holds dangers for curious adventurers who have to make their way through 250 individually designed rooms in which challenging jump'n'run passages demand all their skills. As players explore vast caverns and ancient ruins, they will face countless enemies. In addition to wild animals and renegade robots, humans are also on the hunt in this post-apocalyptic world.

Players bring hope - or not

However, in settlements, players will encounter residents who are simply trying to survive in a hostile world. By helping them with their problems in 50 different quests, players not only give them hope. They also bring the mysteries of the game world to light. Or they just don't get involved at all.

The world of Kandria is designed for both intrepid and adventurous explorers and those who just want to live a quiet life in this strange world. Fishing, for example, is the perfect pastime to safely respite from the rigors of exploration. And you never know: maybe something rare or valuable will get caught on the hook.

Inspired by Celeste and other ultra-precise platformers, Kandria's story began in late 2019 as a test balloon for an in-house engine. By introducing new functions, it formed its own world - including different characters, a background story and plot. To meet the demands of the game, the team expanded in 2020 and 2021 to include artist Frederic Tarabout, writer Tim White, composer Mikel Dale, and sound designer Cai Jones.
