The board game Old Dark Things is entering a new (old) round with “Awakened Again” – in German. The publisher Board Game Circus has taken on the original title from Pleasant Company Games and is expected to bring the push-your-luck game in a revised form to fans in the fall.
The Old Dark Things are back – literally. Because: The original version of the game is approaching its tenth anniversary. The Horror game “Ancient Terrible Things” came onto the market for the first time in 2014, particularly delighting fans with its charmingly weird look with borrowings from the trash-scary segment.
Awakened Again: Challenge Fortune
Old Dark Things: Awakened Again is an entertaining push-your-luck dice game with a spooky cartoon look. You fearlessly plunge into a foolish adventure to unlock its ancient secrets from a dark jungle river. Each turn, players go to a Fateful Location to defeat a Fateful Encounter using their dice combinations and hand cards. The more encounters you successfully defeat at the end, the better off you are - but every failure releases a dark thing that counts against the player.
The publisher Board Game Circus will start selling the “Definite Edition”. With this edition, the publisher wants to point out that Old Dark Things: Awakened Again is not simply a reprint, but rather a “new edition of the game that has been completely revised in terms of appearance and content”.
Many aspects were touched upon again and worked on in a timely manner for the upcoming anniversary. At the end of the game you will receive the completed edition of the game - including all the extras from the Kickstarter campaign if you wish, as Board Game Circus announces.
