Expansive Worlds, a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group, is pleased to announce that the first DLC map for the open-world fishing game Call of the Wild: The Angler, the Norway Reserve, is available now through January 5, 2023 for all player is available for free.

The Norway Reserve, available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store, includes an all-new map. It features three biomes, additional activities and missions, and 13 new species of fish. Parallel to the release, a free update titled Legends brings legendary fish, emotes and many other improvements for players.

Fjords and Northern Lights

“In the months since release we've released two major game updates as well as several patches, and once again we couldn't have done it without feedback from our players. We are privileged to have one of the most active and helpful communities anywhere. Therefore we are determined Call of the Wild: The Angler continue to improve by adding new content and expanding and improving everything that's been added so far," said Paul Rustchynsky, game director at Expansive Worlds. “In addition, the team has been working tirelessly on the latest update we call Legends, which will be released alongside the Norway Reserve. This update features the brand new legendary fish, more ways to communicate through emotes, and many other improvements.”

Based on the rugged wilderness of Norway's untouched nature, the Norway Reserve offers anglers the opportunity to explore off the beaten track between majestic mountains, bask in the midnight sun and marvel at the Northern Lights. When you're not listening to tales of trolls and Stállo, the crystal clear streams and dense forests provide a perfect place to relax.

The idyllic Scandinavian setting may not promise an encounter with the Midgard Serpent, but it does offer 13 new species of fish to test your skills on. And with brown trout, walleye and Atlantic salmon all growing to impressive sizes, you're definitely in the right place to land a great catch. Norway Reserve offers a wide range of activities and missions with fishing challenges, geocaching missions, scavenger hunts and a unique story mission. There are also collectibles to be found scattered across the different biomes of Nøkkensjøen, Huldraskogen and Fossegrimfjorden.

Commenting on the release of Norway Reserves, Rustchynsky adds: “Not only does this new reserve bring a huge new region to explore. Also part of the DLC are 13 additional species of fish and a number of new missions that give anglers the opportunity to learn new skills and add new gear and tools to their collection. And as a token of our gratitude to players for their continued support, we're making Norway Reserve available for free until January 5, 2023!”

Players who already own the base game or who purchase it between December 15, 2022 and January 5, 2023 will receive the Norway Reserve for free.
