Nintendo has unveiled some of the upcoming games for Nintendo Switch in a new Direct Show. Fans can look forward to many highlights that will be released for the hybrid console in the coming months, including The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, Electronic Arts' Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, Apex Legends or Legend of Mana . Even better, two other Nintendo brands are also coming to Nintendo Switch with new games: Mario Golf and Splatoon 3.


The new edition of the show "Nintendo Direct" recently unveiled more than 30 new games for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite. The episode of the streaming format had it all: In-house brands were shown, as well as a new competitive Star Wars game and classics in a new guise. There is also information about games that are already available or will be released shortly. Many of the titles presented will be launched in the first half of 2021. And: The Nintendo Direct presentation ended with the announcement of Splatoon 3, which will be released for Nintendo Switch next year.

New games for Nintendo Switch: from Mario Golf to the Zelda remaster

One of the other highlights of the 50-minute Nintendo Direct edition was the unveiling of the fourth of the six warriors in Fighters Pass Vol. 2: Pyra / Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Also announced for Nintendo Switch: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, which comes up with new control options; Mario Golf: Super Rush, the newest installment in the popular sports game series that features new modes and motion controls; as well as Miitopia, whose stars are the Mii - characters that are designed by the players themselves and make this adventure a very personal one.

As if that wasn't enough, there was more information and announcements in the program. Innovations that are currently being developed were also shown. This includes a game that runs under the working title "Project Triangle Strategy". It is said to be a "new tactical role-playing game from Square Enix. Also featured: Fall Guys - Ultimate Knockout, out this summer; Star Wars: Hunters, a free-to-play online multiplayer title set between Star Wars Episodes VI and VII; World's End Club from the creators of the Danganronpa series; DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power, an action title based on the animated series of the same name; as well as a physical version of the hit game Hades.

Splatoon 3

In this new installment in the series, players leave Inkopolis behind and head for a new region: the Splatsville District. In the heart of this dusty no man's land is Splatsville, also known as the City of Chaos.

Here battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings meet for turf wars for two teams of four players each - this time equipped with a multitude of new options such as new styles, new moves and an expanded arsenal such as a bow-shaped weapon. More information on the third installment in the Splatoon series will be announced at a later date.

Pyra / Mythra in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Originally the 2-in-1 allies of Rex, the hero from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Pyra / Mythra are now joining the warriors of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. They are the newest DLC fighters of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2, which also includes Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft and Sephiroth from the FINAL FANTASY VII series - as well as two other fighters who have not yet been revealed. More information on Pyras / Mythras Moveset and the release date will be announced at a later date.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

Originally released for Wii in 2011, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword tells the earliest story in the series revolving around the creation of the master sword. The HD version for Nintendo Switch offers new control options as well as an improved frame rate and revised graphics.

The game can be controlled either using the motion control of the two Joy-Con - similar to the original game for Wii - or, brand new, via button control.

The latter also makes the title playable in handheld mode, with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller or on Nintendo Switch Lite. At the same time as the game, a new set of specially designed Joy-Con appears: the right controller is adorned with the master sword, the left the Hylia shield. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and the matching Joy-Con will be released on July 16. The game can be pre-ordered from the Nintendo eShop.

Mario Golf Super Rush

The tee for the latest game in the Mario Golf series will take place on Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2021. On a variety of picturesque golf courses, players play games with some of the most popular characters from the Mushroom Kingdom. There are several multiplayer variants waiting for them in local and online mode, for example speed golf, in which everyone tee off and speed to the green at the same time.

There is also the story mode, in which the Mii of the players interact with well-known characters from the Mushroom Kingdom, take part in golf competitions and collect experience points in order to improve their values. You can even use motion controls by swinging your Joy-Con like real golf clubs. The new, virtual fairway will be open from June 25th. Seat reservations can now be made in the Nintendo eShop.

Tales from the Borderlands

In the Nintendo Switch version of this title, players return to the peculiar world of Pandora. You will receive all five episodes of the game, experience the typical joke of the series and meet well-known Borderlands characters. Gangsters, gang leaders and exterminators are just a few of the characters who stand in their way in this unusual adventure in which every decision counts. Tales from the Borderlands is coming to Nintendo Switch on March 24th.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse

Aspyr's popular action game is back. The players assemble a zombie horde to take revenge on the city by turning its inhabitants into the undead. Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse bites its way on Nintendo Switch on March 16.

Project TRIANGLE STRATEGY

This game continues the great tradition of SQUARE ENIX's acclaimed tactical role-playing games. The fights take place on a terrain with different elevations, so that the range for attacks depends not only on the weapons of a character, but also on their location.

Therefore, it is imperative to get an overview of the battlefield before taking action. In addition, the decisions made during the course of the game have an impact on how the story develops and which characters join the players in their campaign. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Be the last case guy standing in the end! Up to 60 players run, jump and push each other to victory in this party hit. Opponents compete online against crowds of other players in a series of insane challenges and wild obstacle courses - all with the aim of successfully reaching the next level of chaos.

You can alternate between free-for-all anarchy and cooperative challenges in which all members of the losing team are eliminated. Proof that you have everything you need to be able to claim the crown for yourself can be provided from this summer.

Monster hunter rise

During the course of the game, an attack called a rampage occurs again and again, in which the hunters jointly have to knock down a monster attack on the village of Kamura. As already announced, players who want to immerse themselves particularly deeply in this role-playing adventure can purchase the Nintendo Switch MONSTER HUNTER RISE edition. In addition to the console, this hardware bundle includes a download code for MONSTER HUNTER RISE, a deluxe kit DLC package and other bonus content. DC Super Hero Girls Teen Power

In this game, which is based on the cartoon of the same name by Cartoon Network, players slip into the roles of well-known DC superheroes such as Batgirl, Supergirl and Wonder Woman - albeit as teenagers. They also have to save their city while they go to school.

Apex Legends
