Any project that brings games closer to people is important. One that has been held annually since 2013 is "Stadt-Land-Spielt". The number of registrations increases every year: the game is played at over 140 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Numerous publishers support the campaign and provide board games that can be tried out over the coming weekend from September 08th to 09th, 2018 - in a friendly atmosphere and of course free of charge.
City-Country Games 2018: play in over 140 locations
The locations where you can play extensively with other people over the coming weekend are spread across the entire Federal Republic of Germany as well as Austria and Switzerland. Game publishers like Hans im Glück, Asmodee Germany, or HCM Kinzel, provide numerous board games that can be borrowed and played free of charge by visitors at the game locations.
The Publisher Pegasus Spiele This year, we are even attempting a world record: as part of the tournaments for the award-winning board game Kingdominoa total of 250.000 Kingdomino points are to be earned - on the occasion of 25 years of Pegasus Games. So that the anniversary can be celebrated with a world record, participants have to make a real effort this year. As a special incentive for the record breaking achievements, Pegasus games attracts with a special price. The venue with the highest number of points will receive an invitation to the company headquarters of the publishing house, including a guided tour, game afternoon, catering and a subsequent tour of Friedberg Castle.
Stadt-Land-Spielt is a project to promote games as a cultural asset in society and has been held annually since 2013. The specialty: institutions and clubs organize the local game events on their own and from their own resources. Access to the venues must be free of charge. Compared to the previous year, the organizers recorded an increase of 22 percent in the registered locations.
In 2017, a total of around 15.000 players took part in the events in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
