Amazon Games today announced Rise of the Angry Earth, the first major expansion for New World. With the expansion, the MMORPG gets the long-awaited mounts, a new endgame expedition, a changed zone and much more.
In Rise of the Angry Earth, the southeastern tip of Aeternum, previously known as First Light, has fallen. Once a place that welcomed newcomers to Aeternum, the fields have now been destroyed by the wrath of Artemis and the Angry Earth. Players also have access to a new, versatile weapon. The expansion will be released on October 3rd.
First expansion for New World: Rise of the Angry Earth
Nobody knows what became of the people and villages that once populated the area. A deadly barrier has prevented all but the bravest from finding out more. The powers of Earth have awakened the powerful Beast Lords, a potential new enemy to face the inhabitants of Aeternum. But they also bring with them a new advantage: the secret of taming and riding animals.

New World: Rise of the Angry Earth players can summon a mount for faster travel through Aeternum and use horses, wolves, and lions. Each animal has a unique appearance, dyeable equipment, and names that can be set by the player. Players also have access to a new weapon - the Flail. The flail is a versatile one-handed weapon with the option to carry a shield in the offhand. By combining melee combat, arcane magic and strong defense, users can increase their group's effectiveness without neglecting offense.
New World Season 3 launches concurrently with Rise of the Angry Earth and introduces a new Season Journey, Activity Map, Challenges, Events, Rewards and more. More details about the PTR launch of Rise of the Angry Earth and Season 3 for active New World players will follow.
